Exclusivity

This will help to solve content saturation and discovery. DAFT will be an exclusive platform for approved artists. There will be a moderation system where the artists on the platform actually approve the new artist applicants (anyone can easily apply), thereby cultivating community, pride, and fairness. DAFT will be open to all fans, users, and artists, but only approved artists can distribute and create communities.

Ownership

This will help to solve participation. DAFT will be an artist-owned platform. A significant portion of the company will be set aside for approved and invited artists. This will make artists care, give them ownership, and fully incentivize and align both the platform and artists to grow this ecosystem.

Human-centric Design

This will help to solve early discovery and establishing your community after launch. DAFT will include human-centric design and curation as the centerpiece of discovery. It will be built for "active" discovery and heavily emphasize + highlight new content you've never seen before. The platform will eschew the passive, laid-back, algorithmic discovery present on existing platforms.

Monetization

This will help to solve, well, monetization. Monetization is built into the DNA of DAFT. The entire ecosystem is a funnel to drive fans to become a paying subscriber for new/existing artists they love. This conversion funnel will be continually optimized, improved, and innovated on to maximize retention, user experience, and monetization.

Communities

This will help to solve fan engagement, growth, and monetization. It's incredibly important for an artist to build community within their fans. This doesn't just mean through the artists own content, but also enabling the artists fans to interact and create themselves. Community is at the heart of DAFT and is a core differentiator from existing platforms. Discord is a great presentation of this working, though, it is a fragmented system and difficult to get going. DAFT will simplify the creation, cultivation, and retention of an artists community.

DAFT will take key learnings from some of the top consumer tech platforms in the world to establish a better fan engagement platform. The closest resemblance comes, as so often happens in consumer tech, from Asia. The global phenomenon that is BTS, with their label, have a similar platform that is targeting a few of these key solutions.
